The FRESHFARM Market at The Parks returns Sundays in September and October.

FRESHFARM Market Returns Sundays in September

Our events team is hard at work preparing a safe and delicious farmers' market starting in September! Organized by FRESHFARM, the market will run every Sunday morning (8 weeks) in September and October from 10 am to 1 pm, featuring tasty meat, cheese, and bread vendors, plus the region's best local veggie and fruit farmers. FRESHFARM has extensive experience managing markets that adhere to all local and federal safety guidelines during the pandemic. All FRESHFARM markets accept SNAP/EBT, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks.

As in years past, patrons will enter at the Georgia Avenue/Butternut Street NW gate, and the market will be held in the grassy area immediately inside the gate. Limited parking is available on site since Main Drive is under construction, so please consider walking or biking. Contact info@theparksdc.com with questions. Vendor details will be updated regularly on our website

The Brooks Condo Construction Continues
Construction is moving right along at The Brooks, the 89-condo building delivering at the end of this year. The brick facade is going up and preparations are underway for virtual and in-person hard-hat tours later this summer. Georgia Avenue Retail Study Highlights Diversity of Options
A new study funded by Upper Georgia Avenue Main Street outlines the strengths of the retail diversity along three nodes of upper Georgia Avenue. With a wealth of Caribbean and Ethiopian restaurants and neighborhood-serving businesses, plus three grocery anchors (Safeway, Target, Walmart), the corridor is poised for growth as The Parks development brings Whole Foods and other smaller shops to the critical central node.

Main Drive Construction Will Transform Entrance
The Georgia Avenue entrance into the campus is getting a makeover. Main Drive, the meandering thoroughfare that runs from Georgia Avenue to 16th Street NW, is under construction immediately inside the gate. The guard house and old bus stop have been demolished. The construction will create a more beautiful and accessible entrance for pedestrians and vehicles, with on-street parking, widened sidewalks, and a multi-use path. The work began in late July and could take up to 12 weeks. Two-way vehicular access and pedestrian access will be provided throughout construction.
