April 18, 2016

Dear Subscriber

This week, on 22nd April 2016, the great Festival of Wesak takes place at the time of the Full Moon, which is at 0625 BST on that day.

It is the highlight of the spiritual calendar, for it is the time when Lord Buddha returns to Earth to bless humanity and to inspire lightworkers everywhere to continue their service in the name of God. He knows it is not easy to work on behalf of the divine Plan when distractions and opposition abound, and how easy it is to be disheartened by the state of the world and the frailties of the human race. He comes to validate and to reassure you.

You are a channel for Spirit, a conveyor of spiritual energy and spiritual force to men and women everywhere. Wesak is a reminder of this, and it is your opportunity to reaffirm your dedication to the Light and your connection to all enlightened beings.

This is such a significant time, and to mark it, I have recorded a new guided meditation especially for Wesak this year. If you are interested in doing the meditation, you can access it on my website here.

Know that all is well.

I send you my love, as always

Helping the Planet

Nature loves to be loved, and nature loves to share its beauty. Nature loves to heal.

You can help nature, and yourself, by ensuring that there is a reminder of nature in the place where you spend a lot of your time, perhaps by having flowers on your desk, an unusual stone you collected by your bed, or rose petals from your garden in a bowl in the kitchen.

Bring a new reminder of nature into your home regularly, and remember, lovingly, that it is there. It will thank you, and you will know.

Spiritual Growth
Self Control

It is easy, particularly as we get older, to find ourselves trying to have our life organised in a certain way. Routine and ritual in themselves can be helpful, and (as this month’s Universal Law explains) to use our time and energy well is excellent.

Problems can occur if routine slips into rigidity, and we find ourselves trying to control situations and people, to make them what we want them to be, instead of having tolerance and consideration of others.

Self-control is different from being controlling: be aware of when self-control is called for, and use it to help your life and that of those you love.

Recommendation of the Month
Yearning for the Wind” by Tom Cowan

I had the good fortune to work with Tom Cowan some years ago, and have never forgotten the wisdom and vision of this Celtic shaman and teacher of the European mystery traditions.
“Yearning for the Wind” is the story of Tom’s spiritual relationship with nature, but his stories relate to his reader’s journey also; the book is beautifully written, and touches the soul.

I recommend it highly.  You can read about it,or buy it, here.

A Universal Law to Ponder
The Law of Economy of Force

This law governs life on Earth, and is to do with the best use of time and energy. It is all about common-sense, and doing everything calmly and expeditiously without undue effort.

It is the third of the three Major Laws - and relates perfectly to my suggestion for spiritual growth, above.
(More information about my card set of the 88 Universal Laws can be found here.)
