Every business that has growth in mind should make growth strategy planning the practical and useful vehicle that it is. All week, my mantra has been for small business owners: There are three guaranteed ways to grow. 

Once you have an understanding of these principles and how they can be implemented in your business, you begin to realize the various ways they can be implemented to increase sales, revenues, and profits.

Here are the 3 Guaranteed Ways to Grow Your Small Business:

  1. Add more customers. Many business owners pursue this first and it's usually the least effective overall because of the marketing costs associated with acquiring that customer.
  2. Increase the average transaction size. Increasing the average transaction amount simply means having your customer spend more money each time they make a purchase.
  3. Increase the number of purchase per customer. Simply put, this means you want to inspire or incentivize your customers to make purchases more frequently.
Now, it’s actually easier to sell more to existing customer than add new customers. What services or products could you add? What packaging, pricing or promotion could you realign? What new markets or segments could you enter?
