With the passing of two destructive hurricanes earlier this month, the Caribbean countries are forging ahead, with dedicated efforts being put toward recovery and relief across the entire territory.

I was saddened to see so many people affected by the devastation but also happy to see everyone working together. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone during this difficult time. There are resorts on the islands of Turks & Caicos, St Thomas, Puerto Rico and Dominca closed for renovations, however, in the next couple of weeks and months they will be better than before. For those who want to learn more about voluntourism opportunities, please contact the Tourist Board offices of the country.

For those looking for R&R, there are plenty of beautiful islands in the Caribbean awaiting travelers and open for business in case you want to travel there for your Fall Break, Thanksgiving or Christmas Holiday! Where do you want to travel to?

Happy Travels!

"Margi was awesome! We used her to plan our honeymoon. We told her what we were looking for - warm climate, beaches and ocean, relaxing, potential for some adventures, a more hilly/mountainous terrain. She suggested Sandals St. Lucia - it was perfect for us! She made it so easy for us to plan, was so straightforward, and we were super happy with everything!" - Review from TheKnot.com
Exploring Spain: Girona and The Pyrenees Mountains

As summer came to a close, I was fortunate to enjoy an adventure in Spain where I explored Girona and cycled through the Pyrenees Mountains.

The Pyrenees mountains form a beautiful and inspirational natural border between France and Spain and any avid cyclist should add this ride to their bucket list! Cycling through the Pyrenees was a little crazy as we experienced gale force winds at the summit and we were forced to take a different course than planned. I must admit, it scared the dickens out of me, but it still turned out to be a super fun day!

The Importance of Travel Insurance

Life can be full of unexpected surprises and travel insurance can provide you with important peace of mind.  Travel insurance is meant to protect you against unforeseen travel misfortunes, like your flight getting canceled due to severe weather, injury or illness while on vacation, and protection should your baggage be lost or stolen.

Insurance coverage varies by who you get it from as well as the individual policy you purchase but there are four basic types of coverage:

•    Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance
•    Baggage and personal items coverage
•    Emergency medical insurance
•    Accidental death or dismemberment insurance

The coverage you need can vary depending on your destination, time and length of travel, cost of the vacation, and other insurance coverage you may have. Most travel insurance providers offer several different policies, so it is easy to find sufficient coverage to suit your needs and budget. Travel insurance is an inexpensive way to protect yourself and your investment.  For more information or to purchase travel insurance, click here.

"We had a lovely time at the Mauna Lani on the Big Island.  The "Blue Book" review in which they said they "drooled" over it was accurate.  The fish ponds are especially pretty, and it's nice to be on a white sand beach.  The staff there fall over backward to make sure you're enjoying yourself.  We went to the summit of Mauna Kea and to Volcanoes National Park to take a hike.  We really enjoyed ourselves, and thank you for your help!"  - I.L
