Greetings Savvy Travelers! We’re halfway into the second month of 2015 and many of you are enjoying trips in warmer climates as I write this. As always, I encourage you to email me about your fun adventures as Kara did below; detailing her amazing, relaxing trip to St. Lucia. Who doesn’t need a little more relaxation? Just reading her email made my day and I felt how happy and relaxed she was. Maybe you will too!
"Calabash Resort in St Lucia was AMAZING!!! It was everything we absolutely needed after a rough few months with a move, family medical issues and job re-orgs.
We stayed in cottage 5, the only water's edge cottage that was completely standalone. It was perfect! I have never felt so relaxed in my life. We both powered down from the world completely for the week and couldn't be happier about our experience.
The staff was wonderful and the food, WOW, incredible!!! We only ate away from the resort one day (at the recommendation of a friend) because everything was so delicious.
Holy cow- we would absolutely recommend Calabash and your travel agency to our friends and family. It was exactly what we were looking for. We felt like royalty. Loved the exclusive feeling of the small resort- we could always get a chair on the beach or at the pool (if we wanted to leave our personal plunge pool)!"
Thank you so much for everything!!!!
~ Kara W.
GOOD TRAVEL CENT$ FOR SAVVY TRAVELERS
To save money, travel in low season. If you can avoid it, don't head to the Tropics for Christmas or to Italy just as school summer holidays begin. Travel off-season and you are sure to find better bargains. Much of Europe still has beautiful weather come September. With kids back at school, flights will be cheaper and your destination a lot less crowded. Ask me about the low seasons of your top travel spots this year and I will get you the best deals!
THIS MONTH’S TRAVEL TIP
As the busy season starts for Europe and Great Britain, it is best to buy tickets now for places you know you want to visit or see. When you purchase in advance you’ll be able to skip more lines, and find more deals targeted toward you. Definitely consider buying tickets in advance for the Vatican, Colosseum, Galleria Borghese in Rome, Ufizzi Galleries in Florence, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Buckingham Palace in London to name a few.
ON LOCATION IN THE BARCELONA SPAIN
This beautiful city is full of what European cities are known for (outdoor markets, restaurants, shops, museums and churches) and is fantastic for walking with an extensive and reliable Metro system for more far-flung destinations. Barcelona, in my personal opinion is one of the most romantic cities in the world. Located right on the Mediterranean, it is rich in history and excitement.
While touring Barcelona, one of the most famous and breathtaking buildings is La Sagrada Familia. I was in complete awe of the architecture and how Gaudi could possibly design such a fascinating building. The height of the church is overwhelming when standing at its base and the inside is even more impressive.
Another area of the city that is full of energy and great for people watching is Las Rambles, a gorgeous tree-lined pedestrian walkway, and the busiest and most lively street of the city. But be careful because the prices of food are very expensive. Head off into some of the side streets for a cheaper, more local, and authentic experience of Barcelona. Sometimes the menu and the staff are only in Spanish, which is a fun experience too.
National Geographic named Barcelona as the #1 Beach City in the World and their beaches are incredible. The Barcelona beach season starts around March 15th and goes until around November 15th. The High Season for beach-goers is usually from the end of May until the end of September.
Are you traveling with children? Toddler happiness is considered a public responsibility in Spain: in any public place people around you put every effort into making your toddler happy: whenever he or she looks bored or is crying, everyone does their best to entertain or to calm them.
Will you be planning to visit several museums? An “articket” will save you some money. It is a combined ticket covering admission to six museums.
Barcelona hosts a number of annual festivals and it may be fun to plan your vacation during one of these unique events.
FROM HAPPY TRAVELER
"Greetings from Moorea!
We got a brief free wi-fi connection and have a few minutes to kill waiting for a ride from dinner. So I just wanted to send you a quick message to let you know we are having the most wonderful time on our trip! It has rained a bit off and on and really has not affected our plans much at all. We had sunburns within hours of arriving so we need some clouds with the sun!
We are excited to go off to Bora Bora tomorrow but will miss this wonderful island of Moorea.
Thank you again for arranging this amazing trip for us!" ~K and D

MESSAGE FROM MARGI
One of my favorite mountains in Colorado is Beaver Creek. I recently stayed at the Hyatt Beaver Creek
which is ski in/ski out. This is a fabulous place to stay and was named 19 among all resorts in the western U.S. as well as Top 10 Family Resorts and Top 10 Leisure Resorts and Hotels. From the Allegria Spa and Ski Concierge to delicious gourmet S'mores, this hotel has been lauded as an ideal getaway for families and couples, spa-goers and ski bunnies alike, not to mention the location is a stone's throw away from the Beaver Creek ski slopes.
