Greetings Savvy Travelers!

The summer is almost over and it won’t be long until the leaves are changing color.  You can read all about my June vacation at the Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, CA in this newsletter.  I loved this resort - I found some much needed relaxation, was totally pampered and even explored the nearby Torrey Pines State Reserve.  I also enjoyed a trip to Oregon last week, but I will share that with you in the next newsletter.  I hope you enjoyed some summer vacation adventure too. Where did you go and what did you see?  Share your story with me!
"Our entire trip to Bora Bora blew our minds. Both of us thought it was never going to be possible to go there, but you helped us prove that thought wrong. We can simply not thank you enough for all your help and making everything so worry free. We will definitely be in touch for our next trip, where ever it may take us. Thank you isn't saying enough! " - The new husband and wife  R & B

GOOD TRAVEL CENT$ FOR SAVVY TRAVELERS

Traveling to a new continent can be very fun, exciting and overwhelming! A lot of times I find clients want to visit many countries in one visit, even if they have only two weeks to vacation.

Instead of racing from one end of a country to another, or tearing through 6 countries in 2 weeks, get to know one region really well.   Undertaking too many flights, train journeys and driving long distances can be exhausting.  This type of fast-paced vacation will eat away at your budget and will really limit the what you can do in each place.

Don’t be afraid to slow down, take more in, and discover all the cool freebies your favorite destination can offer. Explore all the sights, linger in museums, soak in the culture and indulge in fine cuisine.
"Thank you so kindly for the tremendous work regarding my daughters destination wedding in Mexico! Not a day has gone by that I don't value and appreciate your assistance with our travels!" - M.A.

THIS MONTH’S TRAVEL TIP

Thinking about a Caribbean Vacation but worried about hurricane season?    Officially hurricane season starts the beginning of June and continues through to the end of November, but it isn’t unheard of to have hurricanes in the northern Atlantic as early as May.  The hurricane belt includes part of the Atlantic Ocean, the northern part of the Carribean Sea, The Gulf of Mexico and even extends up to Florida.

So you may be wondering, “Where can I go in the Caribbean, during summer time, that isn’t in the hurricane belt?”

There are some great summer Caribbean destinations that rarely experience Hurricanes including Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and southern most islands off the coast of Venezuela– Bonaire, Curaçao, Aruba, Providencia Island, San Andrés.

Of course,  if you are booking any Caribbean vacation during hurricane season I recommend purchasing cancellation insurance/ hurricane insurance, just in case mother nature decides a vacation is not in the cards.

ON LOCATION AT HYATT AVIARA IN CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA

This June, I was fortunate to travel to the luxurious Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, California.   The Park Hyatt Aviara is a Forbes Five Star resort and AAA Five Diamond resort and is located just north of San Diego.

This beautiful resort is a picture of true elegance and is situated atop a high ridge on the shore of Batiquitos Lagoon, a beautiful wildlife sanctuary overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I loved relaxing and splashing at the family and adult pools at this stunning property!

When it came time to eat, I sure loved the variety of delicious dining options including The Argyle Steakhouse, California Bistro, the Ocean Pool Bar & Grill and one of the finest Italian restaurants in San Diego, Vivace.

Looking for a little adventure, I experienced a wonderful walk on the beach at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve nearby the Hyatt.   Torrey Pines is home to the nation’s rarest pine tree – Pinus Torreyan.   The park is also one of the last salt marshes and waterfowl refuges in Southern California.

I enjoyed walking the trails though wind–sculpted pines and the breathtaking views from broken cliffs looking out over the ocean.  If you are in the San Diego area it is really worth taking some time to visit this gorgeous reserve.

"Margi, thank you for everything you've done to help. My wedding could not have come together without you playing a big part of helping my guests get booked and helping to be the communicator between the Playacar Palace Resort in Mexico and myself." - E.H.
