New resource for people who are working and getting social assistance

Working while you are on social assistance

Working while you are on social assistance explains how money from a job or training program can affect how much a person gets from Ontario Works (OW) or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).

This new resource is available in print and online and covers topics like:
  • what happens if someone on OW or ODSP makes more than $200 net in a month
  • what happens if someone earns money during their first 3 months on OW
  • how OW or ODSP can help with costs related to working
We've just updated the design of our Social Assistance series. This is the first publication with the new look.

Visit our website to see our information on a wide variety of legal topics. All CLEO publications can be ordered free of charge.

We revise our publications regularly to reflect changes in the law. Our Discard List tells you which publications are out of date and should be thrown away.
