Composer Spotlight
Julie Geller
Denver native Julie Geller is saving the world one song at a time with original, uplifting music. She has been releasing a new song and music video every month since June 2013.
Julie has sung in a number of choirs, spanning the range from classical to gospel to barbershop, and is thrilled by the opportunity to write a work for women's voices, which will be premiered by Kol Nashim, the women's choir of the Colorado Hebrew Chorale.
Having written most of the melody for this new piece, Julie is now searching for an appropriate text that ties into the theme of strong women in Judaism. Her quest includes poetry by Israeli women and Biblical portions that relate to women.
Once she has chosen the lyrics, she will put together the arrangement, with a first look/listen planned as part of Kol Nashim's Open Rehearsal on Monday evening, August 28, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., at the Hebrew Educational Alliance, 3600 South Ivanhoe Street, Denver CO 80237.
