Email updates are good. Spam is bad. Club Running is good. Therefore, Club Running would not send you spam.

To keep everyone's inboxes fresh, we are discontinuing the 2021-2022 mailing list. If you would like to keep getting updates from club running, please subscribe for the 2022-2023 mailing list:

Dear Debtors (pay your meet fees!)
Frankie Andrews, our beloved treasurer, has reached out to everyone still owing meet fees. Please check your GroupMe messages with Frankie Andrews to ensure you do not have any outstanding fees. You may not compete with us until your fees are paid. If you do not have GroupMe, Frankie will have reached out to you via text or email.

As always, you can pay meet fees via Venmo @umdclubrunning or pay in cash to an officer.
First Day of Practice

Our first day of practice will be Tuesday, 9/6! Practice time and location are, as always:

Time: 5 PM, Monday through Friday
Meeting place (distance runners): School of Public Health Overhang

Meeting place (sprinters, field athletes): Kehoe Track

Please consult the new member packet for any practice-related questions!
Meet Schedule Preview
While we are still working out the details, here is a preview of our fall meet schedule! We may shuffle around the meets in between the time trial and NIRCA Regionals/Nationals.
Fall Training Plan Preview
This year, apparel coordinator Eamon Plante is working hard to adapt our cross country training plan to meet three different goals: injury prevention, reduced fatigue, and accessibility. Based on runner feedback, we are:
  • Providing three scaled plans to encourage individualized training volume
  • Incorporating speedwork earlier in the season
  • Ensuring the hardest workouts are spaced away from meets
  • Extending the training plan to Thanksgiving break to accommodate those racing over the long weekend (e.g. Turkey Trots)
The fall training plan will be provided once the meet schedule is finalized.
Strava
The only social media I regularly use, Strava is a platform for sharing your runs, bikes, rollerskis, and more! Join the Strava clubs "University of Maryland Club Running" (including alumni) and "UMD Club Running Active Members" to keep up with your teammates (pun intended).
