Grab your bike this Saturday for a fun ride around Windsor!

This Saturday, June 20, at 10am we will meet at Schopflin Park, ride up to Windsor for a coffee at Café Noto at the Town Green, then finish at the Wells Fargo Center Farmers Market for lunch (just down the road from our start). As always we will have two rides to choose from and will send another e-mail toward the end of the week with route details.

If you bought one of the new Biker Chick jerseys, please wear it as we’d love to get a great picture of our group. Don't have your Biker Chick kit yet? No problem - we'll be offering a chance to place an order in the near future.

When: This Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10am
Where: 4351 Old Redwood Highway, Santa Rosa, CA 95403 (just south of the Wells Fargo Center)
Bring: your bike (in working order – pumped up tires, etc.), helmet, WATER, snack, ID, cash for coffee/lunch.
Keep in mind that we want all our rides to be as fun and as safe as possible. That is why we're asking ALL Chicks to take the Bike Coalition's Street Skills 101 class. http://www.bikesonoma.org/our-work/traffic-skills-101/

Street Skills 101
Are you interested in gaining confidence about riding in the street alongside cars? The Bike Coalition offers a four hour Street Skills 101 class where you learn about the gearing on your bike, how to travel through intersections, and how to perform basic maintenance too. $40 or $20 for Coalition members. More info available at http://www.bikesonoma.org/our-work/traffic-skills-101/

Want to learn more about your bike?
Check out the new resource tab at the Biker Chicks webpage. We have links to videos and articles covering everything from fixing a flat tire to shifting gears.

Remember to use hand signals...
Being predictable is a big part of staying safe while you ride. To signal a left turn point left with your left arm. Signal a right turn by pointing right with your right arm.  To signal that you are slowing or stopping put your left arm our with the palm down. Easy, right? You can also help by pointing out things like broken glass or other road hazards. Simply point at the problem as you ride by to alert rider behind you to watch out.
