Our nationally certified instructors are walking bicycle-encyclopedias and can answer any question you might have. We guarantee you’ll come away having benefited whether you are an expert or a novice bicyclist. This two-hour course uses slide illustrations, street diagrams, and video clips to communicate a general overview of cycling in Sonoma County.

Smart Cycling Fees: $20 for General Public and only $10 for Coalition members.

Want to learn more about your bike?
Check out the resource tab at the Biker Chicks webpage. We have links to videos and articles covering everything from fixing a flat tire to shifting gears.

Remember to use hand signals!
Being predictable is a big part of staying safe while you ride. To signal a left turn point left with your left arm. Signal a right turn by pointing right with your right arm.  To signal that you are slowing or stopping put your left arm our with the palm down. Easy, right? You can also help by pointing out things like broken glass or other road hazards. Simply point at the problem as you ride by to alert rider behind you to watch out.

"Biker Chicks was founded by Supervisor Zane and the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition in 2012, with the inaugural ride -- by 50 women -- taking place on April 15th of that year.

Biker Chicks offers a fun, supportive, social atmosphere for every woman and girl who wants to ride. All you need is a bicycle, a ful...l water bottle, a tire patch kit and spare tube, snacks and a helmet (required for those under 18, recommended for everybody); you don't need special clothing, just wear what you like and ride.
