Clean It Up!

The Thermomix benefits from a quick clean every now and then.  Simply add 200g white vinegar to 500g of water and cook it for 5 minutes, at 90 degrees, on speed 3. 

If you've had a day making curry and your bowl is still a little smelly, try adding 2 tsp bi-carb and a squeeze of lemon juice to 1L of water.  Cook for 10 minutes at Varoma temperature on speed 4.  Your bowl will look, and smell, like new!

Recipe Ramblings

I recently made Turkish Delight & White Chocolate Panna Cotta.  To say it was easy is an understatement.  It was smooth and silky and deliciously sweet and is a fabulous option for a do-ahead dessert.  On a far healthier note, we also recently tried Quirky Cooking's Lentil Bolognese which had even my carnivore fans raving and was fabulous on a cool, rainy day.  I used the leftovers in some puff pastry and made turnovers for lunchboxes, which also went down a treat.

 One of the things I love about Thermomix is the endless source of recipe inspiration from talking with people and reading Thermomix blogs/Facebook posts.  I'm finding the Menu Planning Link Up each week really helpfu and has certainly encouraged me to try recipes that other people rate highly.  With this in mind, next month I'm going to have my very first My Little Thermomix competition.  All that's required of you will be a picture of your favourite Thermomix dish, so start thinking now about what you'd like to share with everyone.

Get Cooking!


The holidays are a dim, distant memory of the past for me now.  It's very quiet in my house now, with both boys at school and the only upside is that I am getting a lot done!  I've finally been able to get back into the kitchen and try out some new recipes.  I've also been spending a lot of time learning about soaking and sprouting grains, lacto-fermentation and cultured dairy products. I'll share this with you, as the recipes evolve.

Later this month we'll see the return of Cook-A-Long with Brooke-A-Long.  The purpose of cook-a-long is always just to present you with a recipe you might not have tried before.  It is there to encourage you to give it a go and increase your Thermomix repertoire. To begin with, I'm actually going to focus on some of the staples that I know a lot of people still buy - butter, jams, sauces etc.

Cooking Classes & Home Demo (Basic & Varoma)

The Back To Basics cooking class on Tuesday, February 21st at 6:30pm at The Hills Church, 79 Queens Rd, Everton Hills is sold out.  If you missed out on this one, there will be another class at the same venue around Easter.

There are classes in Ashgrove (Feb 22nd), Capalaba (Mar 7th), Corinda (Mar 7th), Jamboree Heights (Mar 10th) Fairfield (Mar 13th) and Burpengary (Mar 15th).  Visit the Thermomix website for information on the
cooking classes and booking instructions.

If you know someone who would like to see the Thermomix in action, or if you'd like to come along just to catch up, I'm hosting a Basic Home Demo on Friday, 2nd March 2012 at 7:30pm.  A Home Demo is ideal for people who are just a bit curious about what the Thermomix does to come along to and find out just what our magic machine does. 

I'm also hosting a Varoma Home Demo on Sunday, 4th March 2012 at 10:00am.  If you'd like to learn more about the steaming side of the Thermomix, come along and sample Berry Fruit Dream, Capsicum & Sundried Tomato Dip, Warm Chicken & Cous Cous Salad and Lemon Citrus Puddings.

Looking for Part-Time Work?

As most of you know, I recently finished up in my part-time administrative position.  I found that trying to balance that job, family life and my Thermomix work was far too much of a juggle.  As more and more people purchase Thermomixes, word about them is spreading like wildfire and it's keeping consultants run off their feet.  The reality for me was that Thermomix made more sense, both financially and for our lifestyle, than the other work did.  I am able to schedule my Thermomix committments into times that suit my family and am working doing something I truly am enjoying.  Every time I get feedback about how much the Thermomix has improved someone's life, I am so grateful that I played a part in that change.  

As our distributor, Graze Mazur, said recently in Business Review Australia, "All it is, is having the right product, the right approach, and the genuine customer care".  Each month Thermomix runs Information Sessions which detail the ins and outs of starting a consultancy business, with absolutely no obligation or pressure to commit.
