September Newsletter

As President of the Board of the Directors for The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools and a proud graduate of Towson High School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year.

Our Foundation works to provide financial resources for programs and initiatives that supplement our students' educational experiences. We invest in teaching and learning by mobilizing our individual, business, educational, and non-profit partners to fund activities and programs that align with Superintendent, Dr. S. Dallas Dance's Blueprint 2.0 and BCPS' vision of a successful and bright future for every student as we prepare globally competitive graduates.

Through annual events such as our "Swing for Education" golf classic and our "State of the Schools" luncheon, we raise funds to support BCPS's digital conversion as it expands into grades one to three in all elementary schools, and all grades in our elementary Lighthouse Schools. BCPS’s digital conversion will also be implemented in grade six in several of our middle schools during this school year. We are also able to fund scholarships to deserving students to attend post-secondary education experiences, as well as, 21st Century Instructional Initiative grants to teachers and schools for classroom enrichment projects.

Our Foundation is honored to be a part of Team BCPS and we look forward to partnering with you to prepare our students for success this year and beyond!

Office Depot’s Education Division

Ms. Jennifer Miller is one of the foundations newest board members.  A resident of Columbia, Maryland, she is the Instructional Lead Consultant of Office Depot’s Education Division where her responsibility is to foster partnerships and to consult and develop solutions with schools and school districts to assist in advancing students achievement. For more than 15 years Office Depot has enjoyed a long-standing and supportive relationship with the Baltimore Country School District. Over the past year, this relationship has extended to the District Foundation as we partnered to look at our instructional priorities and community connections. This effort, led by Office Depot’s Jennifer Miller, has been a true education resource and has resulted in a collaborative partnership between the Foundation, the District, and Office Depot.

Office Depot delivers cost-saving solutions that provide real value to K-12 and help District budgets go further. The conversation starts with understanding each customer's instructional goals and objectives; followed by a unique action plan that addresses critical needs in meeting those goals.
