BCIC Tech Works officially launched

The Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services announced the launch of BC’s brand new talent-building initiative, BCIC Tech Works.

Through the Innovator Skills Initiative (ISI) and BC Tech Co-op Grants program, Tech Works gives students the opportunity to build desired skills, while connecting companies to knowledgeable and passionate students ready to be trained to fit their needs.

New Ventures BC announces companies moving to Round 2.5 & 3

Congratulations to the 42 companies chosen to move forward in the 2015 BCIC New Ventures Competition! Several innovative startups coming out of Venture Acceleration Program partners Wavefront, Foresight and ViaTEC have advanced and we wish the best of luck to all as the list trims to 25 later this month.

Vancouver students win at the world’s biggest science fair competition

Millions of students worldwide competed for an opportunity to participate at the 2015 Intel International Science & Engineering Fair. Yet, two high school students from Vancouver, Raymond Wang, 17, and Nicole Ticea, 16, took home the top prizes with their extremely innovative technology.
