This week at Doejo the focus was on our sister company, coffee roaster Bow Truss. That’s right—we are opening a new location in River North. Starting Monday morning you will be able to get a fresh cup of Bow Truss right off the Merchandise Mart Brown Line stop.

To commemorate the opening we caught up with Ashley Elander, an illustrator who was tapped to create the intricate chalk mural at the new Bow Truss location and launched a new blend: Ryan Beshel’s Bow Tie Blend. We also have the low-down on the new video sharing app Vine and five brands who have quickly figured out how to make it work for them.

Big News: River North Bow Truss opening this weekThe word's out: We'll be opening the second Bow Truss this week in River North—right at the steps of the Merch Mart Brown Line (406 N. Wells). Prior to the opening, DNAInfo visited the space and published an article highlighting the eclectic furniture, splashy pop art and unexpected sound system. Take a look at their piece on Bow Truss here.

5 brands catching our attention on VineVine is Twitter’s new video sharing app. The simple app lets users shoot and share six-second looped videos, tapping into the culture of the animated GIF. After experimenting with Vine we decided to take a look at some of the unexpected brands who are telling interesting stories, creating unexpected art and sharing captivating behind-the-scenes footage on the app.

Meet Ashley Elander, An illustrator at Bow Truss River NorthAshley Elander is a Chicago-based illustrator who was tapped to create the intricate chalk mural that serves as the visual focal point of Bow Truss River North. We caught up with Ashley to find out why she loves collaborating with coffee shops, how she prepared for an elaborate drawing like the one at Bow Truss and where her favorite hangout in Chicago is. We also take a peek at her print work and discover what made her fall in love with illustrations.

BowTruss Influencer Tasting: Ryan Beshel’s Bow Tie Blend“Dress like a CEO and people will think you are,” says Ryan Beshel. This idea was the inspiration for the Bow Tie Blend and is how Ryan lives his life. We invited Ryan to join us for a special tasting at the Lakeview roaster where he choose a blend featuring notes of dark chocolate, cherry and peach. Ryan Beshel's Bow Tie Blend is currently available for sale online now.

Gadget We Want: Love LettersJust in time for Valentines Day, this boxed set of “Love Letters” includes 7 letterpress printed alphabet coasters. Inspired by the legacy and craft of Hamilton Wood Type & Print Museum in Wisconsin, each set of these loved-up coasters includes an A, E, I, O, U and Y.
