And by "b0rked," I mean incredibly persnickety and not wanting to behave.

Today's newsletter is brought to you by the Swedish Chef.
Specifically, the part where my computer went "Bork! Bork! Bork!"

Goodness, it's been a long time.

I apologize for the radio . . . err, computer silence, but it seems that Norton Anti-virus is not quite the champion defender I thought it was.  But!  Challenges are merely obstacles to overcome, and I have an awesome computer guy.

So.  On with the show.  And there's LOTS to see here!

Man, where to start?  First, I guess, is that we have two very cool upcoming events!

The first event is Sunday, October 27th.  Myself and some of the other gals here at the co-op known as the Steamboat Independent Spa are putting on a breast cancer fundraiser called Beyond the Bust.  We'll be offering discounted mini-services, open to the public, to raise money for the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project.  YVBCAP helps provide mammograms for local uninsured and underinsured women and aids with expenses related to breast cancer treatment.

Go to the Steamboat Independent Spa website to book appointments.  Not all services are appropriate for someone currently undergoing treatment; please check with your doctor first, as practitioners may require a doctor's note.

The second upcoming event is my annual client appreciation party!  Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 7th, 5:30-8:30 pm.

Once again, this will be a joint event with some of the other ladies here in the building.  We'll have appetizers & wine, gift bags, door prizes, and best of all--discounted gift certificates!  Buy two, get the third half off--buy for yourself or for friends.

Speaking of deals . . .
I recently became certified in Massage Cupping.  It's kind of like the cups used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but instead of focusing on meridian lines and qi, I work more directly with fascia, scar tissue, and the lymphatic system.

I gotta say, it's really cool stuff.  But don't just take my word for it, try it out yourself.  From now until December 15th, you can add a FREE 15-minute massage cupping session when you book your massage appointment.  Either click on the appropriate box online, or mention it to me when we schedule your next massage.

More free stuff
I love this time of year.  In particular, I'm a big fan of the smells of autumn:  apple cider, cranberry jelly, pumpkin bread, and all those other delicious foods.

If you like those scents too, let me know and I'll upgrade your massage to incorporate a yummy pumpkin spice oil--at no extra charge.

Upcoming change in package rates
Most of you know that I have a frequent flier program, giving you a greater discount the more often you get bodywork.

I also have a package deal (buy five massages, get the 6th session free), but I'm getting ready to revamp it and add some new options.  For those of you who want to take advantage of the present format, now is the time to act!  The current package structure will no longer be available for purchase after November 15th, 2013.

In its place, I will have two new options:  a 4-pack good for a year, and a 30-day "Use It or Lose It" series.  The 4-pack will be good for a year and can be split among multiple people, much the same way the current package is set up.

The "Use It or Lose It" is designed for people who are recovering from injury or surgery, or those who are serious about getting regular bodywork.  The package will include 4 massages, but they must be used within 30 days of the first session.  The massages in this set are not transferable or refundable; they are meant to be used as an affordable intensive series.  For those who need it, I am making this sequence available now by request.

All right, mes amis!
It's been wunderbar, but Athena (my computer) is demanding a little more lovin'.  Fussy diva, she is.

Be well, and I hope to see you soon.

E.
