Cool & Soothing
There is something so healing and soothing to the soul when we slow down. Becoming very still, listening to the sound of our breath, the beating of our heart. This is where the magic happens. This is where Yoga lives. From the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1:2 yogash citta vrtti nirodha or Yoga is the cessation of the mind-stuff. When the mind is calm, this is Yoga.
The concept of quieting the mind often feels fleeting outside of traditional practices: asana, meditation and pranayama. Yet these moments are continuously available to us. This month I challenge you, as I challenge myself to seek out these moments. These empowering moments of stillness, presence and calm. To slow the world down and allow the beautiful magic of this life to unfold.
