Articles for Breast Health

1. Estrogen and Your Thyroid

What have researchers established about the role of hormones in breast health? Breast cancer risk increases with hormone imbalance and estrogen dominance. Furthermore, numerous studies have established that women with breast cancer have lower thyroid hormone levels than controls. Now researchers at Harvard are discovering that even HIGH levels of thyroid hormones correlate with breast cancer (due to thyroid hormone having an estrogen-like effect at high levels).

Many women today have estrogen dominance – a condition where estrogen is high in relation to progesterone. It doesn’t necessarily mean that estrogen is elevated – it means that there is not enough progesterone production to oppose estrogen and keep it in check. Here's a great article on how to balance your estrogen/progesterone.

2. Nettle ROOT and Women's Hormonal Health (Also used to help men's prostate too!)

Nettle Root has the unique ability to add sex hormones where they are needed and delete them where they are doing damage. Nettle Root is able to minimize harmful estrogen metabolites in the body. Some sex hormones undergo a process called aromatization where the end products are implicated as primary causative factors in several types of cancer, including hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer and uterine cancer. Decreasing levels of these estrogen metabolites have shown beneficial both in assisting prevention of cancer as well as an adjunct therapy. Nettle Root has show promising abilities to correct polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and reverse the associated side effects.

3. No need to risk your breast health to toxic chemicals in bath, body and beauty products. Natural beauty is cheaper, safer & it works!

Synthetic petroleum chemicals mimic hormones and create "artificial" hormone imbalance. Here’s a list of the only products you’ll ever need to begin a clean, minimal and organic beauty routine. Start your all natural and frugal beauty journey with Nature’s own ingredients!

Research for Breast Health

1. A study of more than 100,000 people has found that one food group is closely linked with cancer...

If scientists told you there was a single lifestyle factor that may best predict whether you get cancer, you'd want to know, right?

2. A paradigm shift in looking at UV lamp use...
This article goes into detail about how a number of authorities, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), have shown UV light helps promote vitamin D production and deliver other health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health and a reduced risk of 16 different types of cancer, including breast cancer.  (The Society of Endocrinology states Vitamin D is actually a hormone rather than a vitamin). The article also addresses the risks, propaganda and fears about getting melanoma and other skin cancers from UV exposure.

Vitamin D is necessary for the health of every cell in the body. In fact, a recent study showed that women with the best vitamin D levels were the ones who survived breast cancer longer. Dr. Christiane Northrup reports those with the highest vitamin D levels have the lowest risk of MS, arteriosclerosis, breast cancer, bowel cancer and just general overall health.

In fact, a brand new study just came out showing that women with low vitamin D levels have the most bacterial vaginosis. That’s that kind of discharge where Monistat doesn’t work and it’s not yeast and it drives women nuts and on and on and on. If you just get your vitamin D level into the optimal range, guess what? Your vagina will also feel better.

She writes, "What’s the optimal range? It’s 50 to 100. And the test that you want to ask for, and this is important, is you need 25-hydroxy vitamin D. So that’s what you ask your health care practitioner to order, 25-hydroxy vitamin D. You could also go to and you don’t need a doctor’s prescription so that you can get your blood ordered that way. The vitamin D level should be between 50 and 100, and I can tell you the vast majority of you listening to this will go and get yourself tested and you’ll find that your level is 30 or 20."
