What have researchers established about the role of hormones in breast health? Breast cancer risk increases with hormone imbalance and estrogen dominance. Furthermore, numerous studies have established that women with breast cancer have lower thyroid hormone levels than controls. Now researchers at Harvard are discovering that even HIGH levels of thyroid hormones correlate with breast cancer (due to thyroid hormone having an estrogen-like effect at high levels).
Many women today have estrogen dominance – a condition where estrogen is high in relation to progesterone. It doesn’t necessarily mean that estrogen is elevated – it means that there is not enough progesterone production to oppose estrogen and keep it in check. 2. A paradigm shift in looking at UV lamp use...
This article goes into detail about how a number of authorities, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), have shown UV light helps promote vitamin D production and deliver other health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health and a reduced risk of 16 different types of cancer, including breast cancer. (The Society of Endocrinology states Vitamin D is actually a hormone rather than a vitamin). The article also addresses the risks, propaganda and fears about getting melanoma and other skin cancers from UV exposure.
Vitamin D is necessary for the health of every cell in the body. In fact, a recent study showed that women with the best vitamin D levels were the ones who survived breast cancer longer. Dr. Christiane Northrup reports those with the highest vitamin D levels have the lowest risk of MS, arteriosclerosis, breast cancer, bowel cancer and just general overall health.
In fact, a brand new study just came out showing that women with low vitamin D levels have the most bacterial vaginosis.
