New Service Areas – State Bar Defense, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Counsel-of-Record Services
Sacramento, California - Simas & Associates, Ltd. is proud to announce that it has expanded its scope of offerings to its clients and California residents, statewide. Specifically, Simas & Associates, Ltd. now offers representation in the practice areas of State Bar Defense, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Counsel-of-Record Services. These practice areas expand, formalize, and diversify the potential solutions Simas & Associates, Ltd. can offer California businesses and professionals, statewide.
“I am really happy that we were able to finally put a label on some of the services our firm offers,” explained Steven L. Simas, founder and owner of Simas & Associates, Ltd. “For so many years, I sought creative ways to resolve conflicts between parties. I am excited that I have now formalized my training and can now confidently mediate and arbitrate controversies brought to our firm by competing parties.”
“In addition,” Mr. Simas continued, “the firm had been offering continued ‘counsel-of-record’ services to a number of our clients for many years. These are clients who used our firm to formally organize their practices. Depending upon the profession," Mr. Simas explained, "this could be as either a professional corporation, non-profit corporation, partnership, or a limited liability company."
However, there was never a way for Simas & Associates, Ltd. to offer formal continued representation to these and other entities. The new Counsel-of-Record offering addresses that need. "Yes, it turns out that there a number of existing businesses that need formalized representation," explained Mr. Simas. "But this was only after the founders had already created the business without legal assistance. Given my firm’s experience, of course we would be willing to take these clients on and help steer them through California’s complex menagerie of laws and regulations.”
The firm also expanded its professional licensing defense representation model on behalf of attorneys. “Last and not least is our firm now offering and representing attorneys before the State Bar,” explained Mr. Simas. “Since the State Bar Court adopted the Administrative Procedure Act as its procedural base, this practice area became a natural fit. How better to serve the legal community than to serve my fellow attorneys in their deepest and darkest time of need.”
