It’s been a busy start to 2014 with work continuing on a number of key projects from 2013.
One of these projects is 199 The William where in April, progress will exceed level 20 on sections of both towers, with a third of the works to be completed at the top of the building. Once high level install is complete we return back down to the podium. The tower crane is scheduled for removal in May with the team on target to complete 140 crane installs before the project finishes in June.

At 108 Flinders for Merkon, the main façade elements have been installed with work on the internal cladding and ground floor canopy and shop fronts scheduled for completion in May.

We’ve been awarded our first scope of works with McConnell Dowell at the Springvale Railway Station Upgrade project where we are prefabricating the framing and panel for two drop-in lift shafts. Work has commenced on site and scheduled for completion later this month.
Earlier this year, we sent an email to suppliers advising them of a new finance procedure which was effective from February. Most suppliers have been following this new procedure but if you have any questions, please contact Rowena Caddey on 03 9078 5188.
At Green Square, work on Building A for Icon Construction has been completed. Scope of work for this 1100sqm project included installation of pre-clad structural feature fins and pre-clad canopies on the busy Victoria Street elevation.

Tip Top in Brunswick, a Little Projects development for Icon Construction of 7500sqm of balustrades is nearing completion. The complex curves on this project presented challenges across all elements of the job which we successfully overcome.

In the five months since Tim Naidoo joined Six Star Construction as Operations Manager his impact on the operational side of the business can be seen on the factory floor. The layout has been updated which has increased visibility and improved process performance. We’re looking forward to further improvements Tim is planning as we progress with projects during 2014.
At 501 Swanston Street we’ve been awarded work on the feature façade at Brookfield Multiplex’s new head office and the Audi and Maserati dealership, which will start in April.
We’re in design and value management with Maxcon over the feature façade at 381 Punt Road in Richmond, and looking forward to reaching a successful outcome for all stakeholders over the next few weeks.
At the University of Melbourne, we are working with BMPX and Jacaranda on the Japanese room. This project involves manufacturing prefabricated insulated wall systems and crane lifting them into position with feature timber cladding externally mounted. Project is due for completion this month.
During the Easter break, our offices are closed from Friday 18 April and will re-open on Monday 28 April.
