Monday 16 June saw Victoria honouring their manufacturing champions at a special ceremony at the Palladium at Crown in Melbourne.
The Minister for Manufacturing David Hodgett commended 16 individual and corporate heroes at an event which recognised some of Victoria’s leading manufacturers. Now in its fourteenth year, the awards have celebrated 140 innovative companies, added 28 recipients to the Honour Roll and recognised 11 Young Manufacturers of the Year.
It was an evening of celebration for the Six Star Construction team.
“Whilst we didn’t receive an award, being a finalist represents a significant recognition of how far the business has come since we started in July 2008, and it is an achievement worth celebrating,” said Rob on the night. “It was a great opportunity to network with other key decision makers in the manufacturing sector and enjoy the excellent hospitality put on by the Palladium.”
The Six Star team Rob, Matt, Rowena and Alan were joined by Sara Meany and guests Peter Blyth from Dynamic Steel Frames and Justin and Colin Murphy from CSP for an enjoyable evening of fine dining and lively entertainment, with Luke Kennedy of The Voice 2013 belting out a few numbers on stage.
“Entering this year’s awards nearly didn’t happen but I’m so glad we did”, said Rob. “We will definitely be submitting an application for the 2014 Awards and hope to go one step further.”
The winners of this year’s awards include: SRX Global, Future Fibre Technologies and Thermofilm Australia who were recognised as Small, Medium and Large Manufacturers of the Year. Two industry legends were added to the Victorian Manufacturing Industry Hall of Fame Honour Roll whilst nine companies were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
