Forever Fund Impacting Our Community
Michigan HRDI received a $2,500 grant to support removal of barriers to employment for people who have workforce needs in Branch County. As of December, Michigan HRDI has already addressed a handful of workforce needs! The grant funding is helping with:
  • fuel cards for trips to Coldwater from Union City to the Michigan Works! office to work on UIA
  •  fuel cards for the third week of work while waiting for payment
  • prepaid cards to help with a Driver's License renewal
  • Non slip shoes for a home health aid
  • Non slip shoes and black pants for work uniform

We are looking forward to hearing the full report of support that Michigan HRDI was able to give to our residents later this fall! If you're interested in learning more on how the Forever Fund has a broad impact on our communities, visit our website!
Great Start Collaborative Annual Celebration

The Community Foundation is excited to support the Great Start Collaborative's 2nd Annual Celebration and the great work that they do! When Branch County kids get a great start, we all see a great return on our investment. Research shows that each dollar invested in the first five years of life has a $7 to $17 return on investment both to the public and individuals. It takes parents, community leaders, businesses, state and local governments, faith based organizations, private industry and philanthropy, all working together to provide Branch County children a great start.
Join us in celebrating this Collaborative on February 25, 2020 at the ProMedica Conference Center!

FY 2019 Annual Report Coming Soon!

The 2018-2019 Annual Report is almost complete, and we are so excited we had to share a sneak peak! Stay tuned for the announcement when the report will be available electronically on our website and in print at our office!

Irma L. English Memorial Music Scholarship
The Community Foundation held the ILE Memorial Music Scholarship Committee meeting this month and had three very special guests!
Irma's son and world renowned trumpet player and the trumpet soloist for the U.S. Army Band, Woody English, and Irma's Daughter, Carol English Parker, and longtime friend Karen Wilkins joined the committee to review the 2020 ILE Memorial Music Scholarship Applications. We were honored to have them be part of the process.
You can learn more about how the ILE Memorial Music Scholarship has helped send the youth in Branch County to summer music camps on our website!
