May E-Update 2020

Non-Profit Showcase
The Community Foundation is sponsoring a Non-Profit Showcase Zoom event, hosted by the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce. Every Tuesday during the month of June, the Chamber Director will do a Zoom webinar with 4 non profits. Each non profit organization will have the opportunity to showcase their upcoming events and highlighted moments. All of the webinars will be available for the public to participate, interact and ask questions. The Chamber Director will also stream each webinar live on their Facebook page!
2020 Scholarship Recipients

Due to the current pandemic that we are all currently facing, we are so sad to announce that we will not be holding a scholarship event this year. However, we know and believe that our scholarship recipients deserve to be celebrated for their accomplishments, so we plan to do so through our social media page and our website! We have asked our scholarship recipients to help us celebrate them by sending us photos and a small biography about themselves. We will be posting about each recipient in the weeks to follow.
Like us on Facebook and check out our website to follow along and learn about our 2020 recipients!

YAC Emergency Funding

The Youth Advisory Council had funding left over from their grant cycle earlier this year. Some of the grant recipients were unable to accept the funding due to events being cancelled. The YAC members were eager to get involved and help out with what they could, so they reviewed applications to the Emergency Relief Grant Cycle that had youth involvement. They chose to award the Coach Eby Youth & Family Center with $2,000, the full amount requested.

Emergency Relief Fund
The Community Foundation is closely monitoring the development of COVID-19 and the effects to our community. The Community Foundation has partnered with our local United Ways, sending $5,000 to St. Joseph United Way to help Colon residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also partnered with Branch County United Way to support funding for an emergency relief grant cycle. Applications are available on our website HERE.
The generous gifts from our donors to the Forever Fund for Emergency Relief will allow us to continue to support the immediate needs in our community. You can donate to Forever Fund for Emergency Relief HERE.
