Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Dear Pastor Ken,
With the snow coming to Abbotsford this past week, I have been struck afresh by the beauty of the winter season.
My readings through this Advent season have also reminded me that the coming of Jesus changed - and continues to change - everything!
My prayer for you is that you would experience Jesus in the midst of your "winter season" - that Jesus would:
- capture your attention, giving you eyes to see the beauty of the season
- fill your stillness/emptiness with His peace - as your Prince of Peace
- shine His light into your darkness (your questions, the "unknowns" of life)
- transform the freezing cold (your suffering and pain) by the warmth of His love
"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest." (Is. 9:2, 3 - NIV)
Thanks for being a significant part of my life. I appreciate you, for your love, friendship, and prayers.
God bless you this Christmas - with wonderful times of celebration and peaceful moments of reflection.
