Devin's Story by her Mom Cheri:
"Our precious son/brother Devin left us and this earth way too soon on 2/16/16.  His birthday is October 4th and he would have been 27 this year.  We are still in disbelief sometimes, but he will never be forgotten.    Devin had so many plans for the future and was looking forward to life. He was very caring and giving, had a gentle demeanor, and he loved to laugh and make people laugh.  He always wanted to want to make everyone happy.  He gave the BEST hugs and everyone always told him that.  His talent in music and art was also his passion and his love of music was very contagious. He had a song for everything, knew all the latest music and loved to share his knowledge of it all.  He was our "Shooting Star", and that is our song for him.  He was and will always be loved by us and all his friends and one thing that was always apparent was that Family was everything to him.   He always wanted to help others and would give you the shirt off his back if he could.  We had so many people stay at our house that needed help and we took them in with open arms.  If you were his friend, you were his family.  He loved with his whole heart and we loved him, even through the turbulent times.  His name will live on with the work we do in his memory.  His dream was to open Sober Homes as he saw the need and knew with our help, it would be different and help so many.  Myself and his brother Brandon are trying to make that dream a reality.  Addiction is a chronic brain disease and is not a moral failing.  He was a good man that had a disease that started with a prescription from a dentist when he had his wisdom teeth taken out when he was a teenager.  Substance Use Disorder (SUD) has a terrible stigma attached to it.  He was NOT his disease.
We will love and miss you forever Devin!

~ Devin's Momma (Cheri), Dad (Dave) and brother Brandon"
