Dear colleagues, clients, and partners,
Spring greetings and hoping that you are well! In this newsletter, we provide with you an update on some of our current projects, including development of a methodology and project design to rewet drained peatlands in U.S., monitoring for the Cordillera Azul REDD project in Peru, and evaluation of deforestation reduction initiatives in Para, Brazil. We also share some highlights from our recent visit and the story of the Rio Bravo Climate Action Project in Belize using a new web app called Haiku Deck.

We hope you enjoy and invite you to connect with us at an upcoming event or by contacting us directly by email or phone.

With warm regards,
The TerraCarbon Team
Selected Current Projects
U.S. Peatlands Restoration
TerraCarbon has been engaged by The Nature Conservancy to develop a methodology and project design for rewetting peatlands in the U.S. Southeast Coastal Plain. Drained peatlands are a large source of carbon emissions and have negative impacts on local water quality and public health. Read more.
Cordillera Azul REDD Project
TerraCarbon is working with Centro de Conservación, Investigación y Manejo de Areas Naturales (CIMA) to monitor the emission reductions from the Cordillera Azul REDD Project in Peru. TerraCarbon previously provided support to CIMA and The Field Museum on the design and the initial monitoring of the project under the Verified Carbon Standard. Read more.
Evaluating Deforestation Reduction Initiatives in Brazil
TerraCarbon has been engaged by Mercy Corps under the USAID-Skoll Foundation Innovation Investment Alliance to evaluate the impacts of forest conservation initiatives of Imazon and the Green Municipalities Program (GMP) in the state of Para, Brazil. A statistical approach to isolate the impact of various initiatives was developed last year and was recently applied to deforestation results for the year ended July 31, 2014. TerraCarbon and its partners will be holding a workshop with Imazon and other key stakeholders in Belem later this month to present and review the results. Projects Seeking Offset Partners
TerraCarbon is working with Programme for Belize and the Nature Conservancy to market credits from the Rio Bravo Climate Action Project in Belize.  See photos from our recent visit to the reserve and the story of the project in this Haiku Deck.
