Burley Golf Club's smashing Bladder Scanner Appeal

Jo Clarke and Scott Curtis present a cheque to Arthur England (centre).

"Thank you ...
for raising £8,798.71!"

The Burley Golf Club Captains' Appeal smashed their £8,000 target to buy a Mobile Bladder Scanner for the hospital. This is already in daily active use, improving assessment and treatment for hospital patients and in the community.

Arthur England (Trustee and Joint Chair) attended the Club's AGM to recognise this magnificent donation and thanked the Captains and the club members for their successful fundraising year. Find out more

Appeal to expand Lower Limb Wound Clinic

To care for more patients, we are asking for your help to support the hospital to expand the Lower Limb Wound Clinic to treat the increasing number of patients with leg ulceration.

We need your help

The hospital's plan will double the number of treatment stations and improve the provision of specialist care, reducing recovery times for more patients.

With your help ... we can enable the hospital to create an improved environment for patients needing regular treatment and expert support to improve recovery.

New Technology improves Artery Testing

Thanks to a generous private donation, we have already helped the hospital to buy a Mesi Doppler to provide fast automated assessment of lower leg infections and deep vein thrombosis.

This technology provides staff with a simple and fast test to assess vein damage and start treatment earlier, improving outcomes for patients.

Lymington has now invested in additional Mesi Dopplers for their lower limb clinics, community teams and Forest Assessment Centre (FAC).

The Hendersons do ‘All Wight’!

Debs Wood, Peter, Jeff and James Henderson in their team shirts after a charity ride around the IoW requested by Audrey Henderson in memory of her late mother Mrs Glen Williams.  They smashed their £150 target, raising almost £1,200 .. well done Hendersons!

New Forest Hospital Radio

New Forest Hospital Radio (NFHR) brings music and chat to Lymington's patients and staff and is available in other community sites and online to the public. It is run entirely by volunteers who host the schedule of daily programmes and manage the production studio.
In addition to NFHR's own fundraising, Lymington Hospital Friends provides additional support from time to time to help New Forest Hospital Radio by contributing to a share of critical expenses such as licence fee costs and the replacement of essential studio equipment.

Volunteer update ..

  • We now stock packs of charity Christmas Cards in the shop (there are six designs .. see photo). Card sales help us to raise valuable funds for the hospital, so please pop in and buy yours today!
  • The potential opening of the Café remains under review, but the pattern of footfall in the atrium area changed when scheduled blood test appointments were introduced, reducing waiting times.
  • We are discussing with Senior Hospital Managers the steps needed to re-introduce a Ward Friend service to support patient wellbeing. This is also hampered by Covid infection control at present.
More information next time.
