Zoning Codes

City Zoning Codes

The City is planning to change the Zoning Codes so that the majority of Conditional Uses will become Permitted Uses in order to avoid the time and expense of Public Hearings for some development applications.

Since most of the development applications submitted in recent years carry at least one conditional use, this might be a long overdue change.  On the other hand, if almost all Conditional Uses are now Permitted Uses, that further weakens communities' chances of preventing developments they believe are incompatible with their neighborhoods.  View the proposed changes to Section 146 here.

If you want to attend the City's Neighbor to Neighbor Roundtable on Thursday, February 13, to learn about this issue, please call Neighborhood Services at 303-739-7280 to reserve a spot.  There will be a light dinner and networking at 5:30PM, and the Roundtable begins at 6:00PM in the Aurora Room, 1st floor, at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 East Alameda Parkway.

Plains Conservation Center Volunteers

Living History Guides Wanted

Homesteader guide training is Saturday, February 15, and Cheyenne Indian guide training is Saturday, February 22.   Both training classes run from 10:00AM - 2:30PM.

Living History Guides will learn how to interact with visitors, how to set up and tear down living history exhibits, and how to share the appropriate content knowledge with visitors during living history days.

For more information or to sign up for the training, email the Plains Center Volunteer Coordinator, Adrienne Sedlak, or call her at 303-693-3621 ext. 108.
