Colorado Community Rights

What are you doing on Saturday, August 15?  Whatever it is, is it more important than learning about how to reclaim your community’s rights?  The Colorado Community Rights Network (COCRN) is hosting a Ballot Initiative Summit to introduce the 2016 Colorado Community Rights Amendment to the Colorado Constitution.

Over the past 200+ years, the balance of power has shifted from we, the people, to corporations and government.  Communities are no longer able to protect their own health, welfare, and safety, as the courts consistently rule against them in favor of big corporations; communities can no longer set a local minimum wage; and global trade agreements override local democratic decision making.

Many communities in Colorado have decided that now is the time to take back the power that our Founding Fathers intended us to have.

To learn more about Community Rights and the Ballot Initiative, come to the Summit on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 9AM-4:30PM.  The Summit will be held in the Rocky Mountain Room at Front Range Community College, located at 3645 West 112th Avenue, Westminster, CO  80031.

There is no charge to attend, but please sign up here, so that enough space and snacks can be provided.  Please bring your own lunch.  The speakers will be fast paced, and their information will be very enlightening!

Visit the COCRN website and review the ballot initiative language.  Hope to see you there!
Pool Party

Pool Party – This Saturday!!

Last call for the annual Murphy Creek Pool Party happening this Saturday, August 8.   Regardless of showing up in your bathing suit ready for a swim or showing up to lounge around - just show up between noon and 2PM!

There will be super free food available (as long as it lasts) and The Jay and Neil Show will be returning with music and songs from oldies-but-goodies to current day tunes.  They take requests and were a real hit last summer.

The event is sponsored for you by the HOA Social Committee.  Take advantage of great free food, great free music and a great day at the pool.

Murphy Creek residents only.

Arapahoe Road Construction

Arapahoe Road Widening-You May Want to Know

Many of us use Arapahoe Road often or from time to time as a convenient way to get from here to there.

You know that section between Himalaya Way and Waco Street where the road narrows to just 2 lanes?  The slow traffic through that area is being addressed by the widening of that section to 4 lanes and later to 6 lanes.

The construction begins the week of August 3 and will occur from 7am until 7pm Monday through Friday for the next year.  There will be occasional lane closures and only one lane opened at times.

Expect travel through there to be a bit frustrating while under construction.  However it will be so nice to have 4 lanes by next year!
