  • Public Hearing - A new Southeast Aurora Maintenance Facility is planned for an 88 acre site on the north side of Quincy Ave. approximately 1 1/2 miles from the intersection with Gun Club Rd.  The City's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board must approve an amendment to the Master Plan to allow the usage.  Aurora residents are invited to participate in the Public Hearing on May 2 (Wed.) at 6PM at the Central Library, 14949 E. Alameda Pkwy.
  •  Aurora Water Must Taste Good! - Aurora water will be bottled and distributed by California-based Niagara Water per an agreement with the City.  Niagara will construct a $177,000 sq. ft. facility near E-470 and I-70 and create 36 FT jobs while investing $30 million in land, building improvements and capital equipment.  Learn more at :http://www.aurorasentinel.com/hp_business/article_09f4ecb0-679c-11e1-bcf6-001871e3ce6c.html.

Fracking News
Colorado Senate Bill 107 (SB12-107), commonly known as the "Fracking Safety Act", is the last remaining fracking regulation bill alive in the Colorado legislature.  It addresses drilling near radioactive materials and Superfund sites, water quantity, water quality, environmental bond requirements, and prohibition of fracking within 1/2 mile of any surface water.  In section 2 of the bill, part (4)(b)(I), it states "an operator shall not insert into the ground any quantity of chemicals known to cause or reasonably anticipated to cause cancer, including: diesel fuel; benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, or xylene; and any substance included in the most recent ‘report on carcinogens’ released by the national toxicology program of the US Dept. of Health and Human Services."    Learn more at:

1.  Emailing Colorado state senators and representatives and asking them to vote "yes" on SB12-107.  Go to:
