The Buzz

Upcoming events and information at the
Burnaby Neighbourhood House

It is getting busier every month at the Neighbourhood Houses! During the heat waves, our team delivered 35 donated fans to our most vulnerable seniors; we saw many of our neighbours at the Community BBQs; Rosemond from the Outdoor Family Place led a story with a teddy bear, new and returning volunteers helped with frozen meals, there was a Nature Walk at Confederation Park, and participants had fun learning how to make Eco-Soaps!

Now let's see what else is happening this month!

BNH turns 25!

We are so excited to be celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year.
BNH started with 5 local residents who had lived and experienced the magic of Neighbourhood Houses in Vancouver. 25 years later, BNH continues to be the place that supports our most vulnerable residents. Click here to read our story and make a donation of $25 (or more).

Fan Donations

So far this summer, our team has delivered 35 donated fans to our most vulnerable community members. BNH would like to thank everyone who donated fans— we could not have done this work without you! We would also like to thank Burnaby-Deer Lake MLA Anne Kang and New Westminster-Burnaby MP Peter Julian and Caring Project founder Doris Mah, who collected gently used fans for seniors and donated them to South House. This was an incredible community effort!
*Seniors are still in need of donated fans. To donate, please contact Alexis at 604-431-0400 or
