SPRING INTO DANCE!

STAFF AND COMMUNITY NEWS

UPDATE: GOWANUS ARTS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (GADP)

STH is happy to announce Severn Clay-Youman of Civic Architecture Workshop, an architect in recent decades but formerly a lighting designer for many downtown dance groups (including Spoke the Hub), has joined the GADP project.

We are now currently seeking progressive, creative, and experienced general contractors, MEP consultants, and building code expert/expeditors to bid on our project. Candidates must have a solid track record of keeping projects on time, on task, and on budget, and be experienced in retro-fitting old buildings to make them as safe, inspiring and sustainable as possible.

We are especially seeking experienced women in the trades to participate in this project - anybody know a formidable NYC female general contractor you could recommend whom you think might be a good fit for us and interested in taking this project on? If so, please contact: elise@spokethehub.org.

Threes Brewing

STH’s delightful new neighbors, are doing their part to help green up the Gowanus by trying to raise money to make their outdoor space an “oasis” for area residents and visitors alike.

Please donate to their Kickstarter campaign, and if you haven’t been to the new brewery yet, drop by for a brewsky or cup’a joe and see what a lovely restaurant/bar/event space they created!
