PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS & BOOMER WORKOUTS with Elise Long
Elise Long will be offering a new intergenerational improvisation/performance workshop on Wednesdays this coming year for anyone interested in creating and performing new physical theater work, directed by Long. Long’s “Bandwagon Productions” invites all uninhibited men and women (kids 8 years and up also welcome to audition) to jump on the bandwagon and be part of this gypsy band of movers and shakers. (This workshop is a year-long commitment and participants will be invited to perform the new works they create together at various community functions throughout the year.) Professional performers are very welcome along with enthusiastic laymen. .
BOOMER WORKOUTS with Elise Long
These total body maintenance workouts -- geared specifically for boomer bodies but also open to all ages who are interested in working out at a slightly lower decibel level — includes cardio dancing, strength, stretch and deep relaxation work. Prepare to dance, skip, play ball, pump iron, maybe jump rope, maybe do push-ups, maybe a few boot camp drills, maybe sing and recite poetry, but definitely plan to laugh, sweat and have a ball. Both vigorous and gentler workout options available. Everyone invited to adjust workout to work for your body - either amp things up or tone things down whenever necessary.
STH is known for its superlative faculty but we also house a number of independent teachers who offer fantastic classes under their own umbrellas. This year, for the first time, we will offer a STH Class Card option which will allow our students access to STH’s own Fitness, Dance and Yoga classes, as well as allow our students to explore ALL of the teachers and classes offered under our roofs.
