Liza Cassidy

Radiate 2014

Jan. 5 - Feb. 14

In the Summer when I visit my home town in southern Vermont I bring my paints and head right to the fields for direct contact with all that I love. Plein air painting brings heat, cold, wind, rain, insects and forever changing light, and I love striving to keep up.

This is a welcome compliment to the slow contemplative collages that I return to in my studio in Brooklyn, NY.

CALL FOR PERFORMING, VISUAL & LITERARY ARTISTS OF ALL GENRES FOR STH’S 3RD GOWANATHON

Artistas! Have anything you are working on that you might like to teach, install, rehearse and/or perform/present this March at the Gowanus to help us with our “Stairway to Heaven” capitol campaign while banking future rehearsal, class, performance, or party hours for yourself, your family or your company? If so, STH’s third GOWANATHON wants YOU!

STH’s GOWANATHON is a  multi-faceted,  arts-marathon and “share-athon” where community artists help STH  raise money to make improvements on our 15,000sf community arts center where many of us work, create, teach, play and present.  This year, we need to raise money for a new stairwell with a hefty price tag of $150,000!

Thus, STH is now seeking proposals for informal classes and workshops, open rehearsals, installations, performances, shared showcases, film screenings and improvisations to help raise money for this huge building improvement.

We are currently open to and will consider all ideas, participatory events and performance possibilities for the month of March at the Gowanus so please send proposals, a resume/your background and length of proposed presentation to spoke@spokethehub.org before January 30th.

LOCAL PRODUCE 2015

a) the Garden of Union (must be site specific)

b) Greenspace @ President Street (must be site specific)

c) a small stage in front of the Old Stone House on 3rd Street (could be site specific if you wanted to stage work in or around the Washington Park playground in front of  the Old Stone House, or  if you have work that would fit better on a small, more traditional platform stage.)

Please send spoke@spokethehub.org a one page proposal of what you would like to create/present in, on or for --

NEED NYC SPACE FOR YOUR
SUMMER CERTIFICATION INTENSIVES?

STH is seeking individual artists, performance groups, certification programs or continuing education programs to rent our studio spaces in the evenings and weekends during the summer months of July and August. We welcome proposals from local or visiting freelance professionals or organizations - from our Brooklyn ‘hood, across the country, or around the world -  who might need an annual New York City summer retreat, classroom space, rehearsal, performance and or teaching space to run your workshops, certification programs, or other summer adult intensives. (Yes, our spaces are air-conditioned!) Please send inquiries and proposals to spoke@spokethehub.org  and forward to others who might like to explore this summer space partnership now for next summer. » Find Out More
