As our Texas summer takes hold, it's a great time to remind ourselves to slow down.  For many of us, the heat naturally slows us down but for others (and you know who you are!) there's a continued need to hurry up and do whatever is next on the list.
I've been working more on my personal meditation practice and have recently completed a Meditation Teacher Training at the
Ananda Meditation Center (more on that coming soon).  I've learned that regularly making the time for that quiet introspection has been a good reminder to myself that there's more to life than hurrying up to get to the next thing. 
We MUST do things that we enjoy, that fill our souls with joy, that recharge our "batteries".  I'd like nothing more than to spend my days on the beach reading and napping...I can't afford to do that right now but I am committing to spending some time outdoors, to a regular meditation practice, to spending time with friends and family.  The work isn't going anywhere and there's more to life than checking things off of my to-do list.
I hope you'll find ways to the do the same for yourself.

Effective June 9th, Suzy Swafford joins us to teach the Saturday morning Yoga 2 class at 8am.
Suzy says, "Yoga is a beautiful way to develop the relationship between your mind, body, and spirit. It's a journey anyone can take and everyone who does grows in unexpected ways!"
