EPTO - European Peer Training Organisation

European Peer Training Organisation (EPTO) receives UNESCO label

EPTO, a sister organisation to CEJI, is a network of young people and youth-serving organisations who use peer education as a way to overcome all forms of discrimination. EPTO has just received the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum Label:
“We feel honoured to have received the 8th UNESCO Youth Forum Label supporting the "Why not?" project aiming at increasing the cooperation between Roma and non Roma through peer education. Our Director Robin Sclafani led the successful 'Unconscious Bias in the Workplace' corporate training seminar held at Google (Brussels) earlier this month. She has also been facilitating workshops for some of our European NGO partners on conflicts of rights issues, and also led CEJI’s recent open training on “Reconciling Religion, Gender and Sexual Orientation.”

Our Community Affairs Co-ordinator, Melissa Sonnino, has been busy representing CEJI at the FRA’s recent meeting with stakeholders to discuss following up its antisemitism survey (in which our hate-crime monitoring project Facing Facts! was given special mention) and at the KAICIID Global Forum which brought together 500 thought leaders in interreligious and intercultural education, government officials and eminent religious figures.

Meanwhile, our Training Co-ordinator Stéphanie Lecesne, has been busy in Malta running our award-winning Religious Diversity and Anti-discrimination training courses in Malta - in English and in French, and represented CEJI at the Salon d’Education in Charleroi from 16-19 October.

Emily Nielsen joined us as an intern from American University this September – December. And we'd also like to welcome our new intern, Francesca Mari, who'll be helping us out with our communications.

One of our newest Board MembersHarry Wall, has launched a new blog called Jewish Discoveries. According to Harry: “it is a travelogue of various Jewish communities that I have visited and filmed, along with articles and photos by other "Jewish travelers" […] e.g. "A Walk in the Marais - the Jewish heart of Paris"; the remarkable revival of Jewish life in Poland, and a charismatic chef preparing Sephardic dishes in Segovia, Spain. More videos will be posted in the coming weeks”.
