ADDU Community Honors St. Ignatius of Loyola on his Feast Day
The Ateneo de Davao University conducted a university-wide celebration of the St. Ignatius’ Day last 29 July 2022 at the ADDU Jacinto Campus. Faculty, administrators, and students from all units - Basic Education, Junior High School, Senior High School, and Higher Education Units - attended the day-long celebration.
In the morning, a mass in honor of Sr. Ignatius of Loyola was presided by Fr. Jboy Gonzales, S.J.
After, the University St. Ignatius Day Celebration followed. Various representatives from student organizations across all ADDU units showcased performances - such as musical numbers and dance presentations - to honor St. Ignatius.
In the afternoon, a university lecture was given by ADDU President, Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J. He discussed the topic of Catholic Higher Education in the Philippines: A Commitment to Quality Education in the Philippines in the Spirit.
On 31 July 2022, during the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the university remembered the founder of the Society of Jesus through a mass dedicated to the Solemnity of St. Ignatius of Loyola at the Our Lady of the Assumption Chapel in the ADDU Jacinto Campus.
When Ignatius was canonized by Pope Gregory XV in 1622, July 31st was chosen as his feast day. Ignatius of Loyola was a Spanish priest and theologian who founded the Jesuit order in 1534. Known for its missionary, educational, and charitable works, the Jesuit order was a leading force in the modernizing of the Roman Catholic Church.
AdDU Implements HISFlex, Return to Campus Protocols

Shifting from a fully online to a blended set-up, Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) introduced the Hybrid Implementation Strategy using a FLEXible modality (HISFlex) strategy and the Return to Campus Protocols for the upcoming academic year.
Through the SAMAHAN’s town hall discussion entitled, “Gearing Up For the New Normal: #SAMAHANTownHall,” Academic Vice President (AVP) Gina Montalan, Ph.D. discussed the HISFlex set-up, academic policies, and the schedule of classes while External Vice President (EVP) Jeremy Eliab explained the Return to Campus guidelines.

2022 Women in Science (WiSci) STEAM Camp
The ADDU Libraries-American Corner Davao conducted the Women in Science (WiSci) Girls’ STEAM Camp last July 4-9, 2022 at the American Corner, Ateneo de Davao University. This program was organized by the American Spaces Philippines in partnership with the United Nations Foundations’ Girl Up at the American Corners Batac, Bacolod, and Davao.
ADDU AIM and SBG Host Pakighinabi (Conversations Series) on Business Involvement in Peace, Prevention of Conflict, and Resilience
As part of the year-long celebration of Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU)’s jubilee year, the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao Office and School of Business and Governance hosted the Pakighinabi on “Business Involvement in Peace, Prevention of Conflict, and Resilience” last 21 July 2022 via Zoom video conference.
ADDU has always hosted a Pakighinabi (a local term for conversation or dialogue; a gathering, a venue, and a space for conversation. The Pakighinabi was envisioned to be a venue of shared discernment on critical issues using a multidisciplinary approach.
