Conference on Healing and Reconciliation II:
Moving Towards Human Fraternity

The success of the first Conference on Healing and Reconciliation entitled: “Walking and Working Together in Healing and Reconciliation” conducted last 14 August 2019 in Davao City, warranted a second iteration that would further deepen the stakeholders’ understanding of and commitment to the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and its great significance to Mindanao peacebuilding.

In the second Conference on Healing and Reconciliation conducted on April 25 - 26, 2022, the special role of the government through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) was highlighted, especially given its renewed vision of peacebuilding as guided by the principles of Document on Human Fraternity. The conference was an opportunity for mutual cooperation within diverse communities of practice, for meaningful discussion on business involvement in peace, and for deeper understanding of the Dialogue of Life as demonstrated by the late Bishop Bienvenido Tudtud, former Bishop of the Prelature of Marawi in Mindanao who pioneered the efforts of reconciliation and interreligious dialogue between Christians and Muslims, through his life and work.

In this dialogue assembly, we gathered participants from the academe, government, media, peace centers/CSOs, religious, women, indigenous peoples, and youth sectors.
