Ending of 2013 - 2014 Legislative Session
Yesterday, March 20th marked day 40 and we discussed legislative bills up til midnight. It was an intense evening! As a public servant, my first priority is to ensure the people of Georgia enjoy the best quality of life. Some bills survived the scrutiny of both chambers while others failed.
HB 697- Zell Miller Scholarship; HOPE Grant- This bill
will allow eligible high school students to receive additional HOPE grant money. Taxpayers can also make donations from their tax returns after January 2015. Passed House & Senate
HB 975- Gun Bill- This bill will allow guns on certain property in some cases to be decided by authorizing entity.
HB 943- This bill will prevent any government agency or official from discussing or assisting Georgians with signing up for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
