Georgia Politics at Its Best
Today, November 4, 2014 has been a long awaiting day for every Georgian especially the federal, state and some local candidates and their campaign staff. Elections are strange because no matter how many times you contact the voters, register the voters, shake hands, kiss babies, the unsurety of voters can keep a candidate in a contested race "on the edge". In Clayton County we had a historical ballot question about MARTA transportation. I commend all of the organizations who spent numerous hours educating the citizens on the pros or cons of transportation. In all the races, nothing can replace a knowledgeable voter who researches the issues and are prepared to question the elected officials on their stance. It's inevitable at the end of election night there will be a winner and a loser. The Face of Georgia politics will change one way or another because of the number of voters who cast their votes during this election cycle. Like the church song says, "I will run on and see what the end is going to be". I trust God!

This meeting is open to ALL educators from early learning to college level. As a State Representative whose focus includes education, it is important to me for the educators to have a platform. This advisory committee will be maintained by my office. It is my hope that the lines of communication can be expanded that will lead to more effective changes in policies locally, statewide and federally. The discussions will be in an open atmosphere.
