HB 807 Clayton County Community Improvement District sponsored by Rep. Stovall was Signed by Gov. Deal into law.

This new law will allow CIDs in Clayton County to collaborate with adjacent CIDs located in or outside the county. Clayton CID is Airport South on Phoenix Blvd and it will collaborate with Airport West in Fulton County. Because of this law, residents will soon witness an increase in amount of safety provided in the areas, beautification on I-285 Riverdale, and other exits in that area. This will also spur economic development and job creations. CIDs are a mechanism for funding certain governmental services including street and road construction and maintenance, parks and recreation, storm water and sewage systems, water systems, public transportation systems, and other services and facilities utilizing taxes, fees and assessments paid additionally by non-residential owners in the proposed CID. A board of directors is formed by the property owners. Examples of the benefits of existing CIDs are Perimeter Exchange, Jimmy Carter Blvd., Buckhead, and Cumberland. Thanks to the Clayton County Legislative Delegation for supporting this bill.
