Meet Us: Trish Ciaffone

I’m an Asheville native, and I’ve been a pagan for over thirty years. I studied Wicca in a group during the late 90’s and was initiated into a traditional coven. While I love the community and familiarity of Coven work, I always gravitated towards more eclectic practices myself. I’m most at home working Appalachian Hoodoo. Being an Appalachia woman, it feels very natural. My family has been in these mountains since North Carolina was still a colony, so I guess one could say that this is in my bones.

I work most often with The Goddess Kali, (I know, not exactly what might be expected from a Carolina woman.) and have been very interested in the Goddesses of the Middle Eastern deserts. I’m fond of Tiamat , Al-Uzza, and Asherah and feel called to honor them. I believe the images and energy of these Goddesses are sorely needed to balance the energies of toxic masculinity we are witnessing globally.

I feel very fortunate to be in a community with an active Goddess temple. Mother Grove is a joy to me, and I am excited to be working with the Temple. I was pleased and honored to have Raven and Crone include my fancy witch hats for the Samhain season this year. I’m a creative person and enjoy making unusual hats. These were the first ones that I actually made the bases before embellishing them. I love how strong and open our community is here and believe we will only grow stronger and more magical in the future!

Blessed Be.

Happy Bellies Food Pantry
Mother Grove is collecting items for our food pantry. Please bring a donation of nonperishable food items, toiletry items, or pet food to any temple event, or drop off your donations at Asheville Raven & Crone. Please contact us if you are in need.

Wheel of the Year Fundraiser
This community has been so supportive of your Goddess temple--blood, sweat, tears, canned goods and monetary donations. Although we love our tiny downtown chapel, the dream has always been to Raise The Temple. We are, therefore, beginning our land quest in earnest this year. This GoFundMe will take care of our annual expenses so that the Green Circle can focus on the land. We invite you to support the new effort by supporting the work of Mother Grove, the day-in-day out of food pantry, classes, public rituals, workshops, newsletters, supplies, Sunday morning programming, Full Moons, Young Maidens, Maya Angelou Peace Garden and Women's Wellness Center, and all that Goddess-related and community-supporting jazz. Here's a way you can do that. With our gratitude and respect.
