ARTIST SURVEY

Advancing the Artisan Economy & Affordable Housing for Artists

DAC invites artists and artisans to take part in an important survey designed to help our community advocate for affordable live/work spaces. This survey builds upon a series of public events coordinated by Local First, Durango Arts Center, Studio & and the Green Business Roundtable that analyzed our region's artisan economy. All respondents will be entered for a complimentary DAC Artist Membership, which includes several benefits. This survey is open through February 15, 2016. We encourage you to share your perspective as a valued artist or artisan of SW Colorado!

Call to Artists

The City of Durango's Public Art Commission currently has an open Call to Artists posted on Cafe. While the deadline is currently rolling, those applications received before January 31 will be given priority consideration.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2016

Funding for:
  • Individual Artist’s Projects
  • Professional Development
  • Artist-to-Artist Workshops
Deadline to submit: March 7th, 2016 by 5pm

Small grants support the innovation, creativity and professional development of individual artists living in the Telluride region. The small grants program is generously funded by the Town of Telluride and administered by Telluride Arts.

Funds support individual artists working in the visual, media, performing and literary arts. Artist projects may include (but are not limited to) the development, completion or presentation of new work; and professional development. Artists are required to share work with the public through a performance, publication, exhibit, screening, or a simple written or photo documentation of the project, in print or online, in order to enrich the lives of their Telluride community.

An artist may apply for up to $2000 for an individual project or professional development.

As part of the Small Grants program, artists are invited to apply for up to $300 to provide a free Artist-To-Artist Workshop. The goal is to help artists develop professional skills and expertise that advances their work. Workshops will be taught by artists for artists.
