Group Therapy resumed on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
Group Therapy is open to all adult fiber crafters of any skill level.

We have also added a morning Group Therapy for those who need their fix earlier in the day!  Join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am and you will find a lively and fun group!

Whether you are a knitter, crocheter, spinner or weaver, you will find lots of encouragement and ideas from fellow fiber enthusiasts.
This is a very social and fun time.  Bring in your current project or come get inspired to start another!
Therapy is free of charge and is held every
Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
and
Wednesday morning from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

This is not a class or instruction time - it is just time for us to relax and get some Group Therapy!

We are excited to bring another new class to Yarn Asylum this Fall.
Knit Three
Learn colorwork knitting and create 3 warm and wonderful matching accessories perfect for gift giving or to keep for yourself!
This 3 part class starts with a cowl and progresses to a hat and ends with gloves!  We will be using the Arrows Abound pattern by designer
Melynda Bernardi.

Here are some of the details:
Class instruction will be held for 7 consecutive weeks beginning on Friday, September 30th and ending on November 11th.
Class times are 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The first and second classes will include instruction for the cowl.
The third and fourth classes will include instruction for the hat.
The fifth and sixth classes will include instruction for the gloves.
The seventh and final class will be a make-up class for anyone needing any extra help on the projects.
The class fee is only $80.00 and includes the pattern ($6) and all 7 classes!

Please see our website for more information on the classes, materials needed, and how to get registered!
Please note there is homework to do before the first class!

YES!

So many people have been asking.  Some are already working on their projects.
Yarn Asylum is honored to be taking donations of knitted and crocheted chemo hats again this year.
We have so many generous and kind-hearted crafters that are willing to give up a little of their time and yarn to make hats for this truly worthy cause.
Once again - bring in your hats to be donated to TN Oncology in Nashville.
For every hat you donate, you will receive an entry in our drawing for a Yarn Asylum Gift Certificate.  For every 50 hats we receive, we will add another Gift Certificate to the drawing!
There is no limit to the number of hats you can donate.  You can make them using any pattern, yarn, color or size.  Remember - we need hats for men too!
Think of these warriors battling for their lives and show your support with something you would be proud to wear.
Donations will be accepted until the end of October and you can start bringing them in now!
It is almost the end of September!  I know you don't want to hear it, but the holidays are rapidly approaching.  Are you going to be ready?
Now is the time to start thinking about creating those handmade gifts for your family and friends!
Now is the time to start thinking about those warm hats, scarves, cowls & gloves you are going to need when the weather finally turns cold!
We have some ideas for quick and easy projects that just fly off your needles.
This is one of the most popular patterns in the shop right now.  It is called the Interrupted Cowl and is a free pattern on Ravelry.  Using Bamboo Bloom by Universal Yarns and size 10 needles - you can knit this astonishingly easy cowl in no time!
Ravelry is a fantastic asset to all knitters and crocheters.  As of this posting, designers have made 263,716 patterns available as Ravelry downloads.  Say what?!  263,716 patterns!  That is incredible.  Many of those patterns are free to download.  If you come across one that you like - just store it in your personal library!

As well as a huge resource for patterns, you can access forums on just about any subject, look up almost every yarn ever produced, keep track of your stash and needles, record your completed projects or works in progress!

Did I mention this is all available for FREE!  You have to register for an account, but it is FREE!

Yarn Asylum is happy to be part of the Ravelry In-Store Pattern Sales Program.  If you find a pattern you would like to purchase through Ravelry, you may be able to buy it right here in the shop.  We will print out the pattern for you and a copy will still go to your Ravelry library for future use!

Check out some of our favorite patterns available for purchase at Yarn Asylum.

UPDATED!  PLEASE READ!

Store Policies:

  • We offer a Yarn Asylum Support Program. With each purchase, you receive a stamp on your card for every $20 you spend (excluding class fees, sale items and sales tax). When your Support Program card is full, you can redeem it for $20 off your next purchase.   While I try to remember to ask everyone if they have their card with them, it is your responsibility to remember to present it. Cards will not be stamped except at the time of purchase.
  • We are happy to answer customers brief knitting questions over the counter when time permits. If you need extensive help (more than 5 minutes), or you bought your yarn elsewhere, please sign up for one of our Drop In Clinics, or make an appointment for a private lesson.
  • Well-behaved children are always welcome at Yarn Asylum. It is your responsibility to watch your children at all times.
  • At this time, we do not have a policy prohibiting food and drinks at Yarn Asylum. (We have to eat here too!) We do ask that you limit these items to the table area and be courteous of other visitors and the inventory.
  • If you would like us to wind your yarn, just ask. We are pleased to offer complimentary winding services for all hanks of yarn purchased in our shop. Please remember that once we wind a skein for you, it isn’t returnable. If you aren’t sure if you’ll need all those skeins for your project, wind only one or two and bring the others back to be wound as needed. We only ask that you keep the original label on the unwound skein, so we know it was purchased at Yarn Asylum. Special events or sales mean that we may be too busy to wind your yarn at that particular time. Should this happen, you can always leave your yarn with us to be wound, and pick it up at another time. Or as stated above, just keep the original labels on the skeins and bring them in anytime to be wound.
  • We will wind certain yarn that is not purchased at Yarn Asylum for a fee of $2 per hank. Based on the condition of the yarn and the content, we reserve the right to determine if we will wind your yarn. Please note that we are not responsible for yarn purchased elsewhere if it is damaged by our ball winder.
  • Special orders requests are welcome, and we will do our best to accommodate them if possible. All special orders must be paid in advance. Additional shipping and handling fees may be required.

Return policy:

  • Unused yarn with original labels and receipt can be returned within 60 days for store credit or exchange. Yarn must be in its original condition. Yarn that has been wound, covered in pet hair and smelling like smoke or last night’s dinner is yours forever.
  • Knitting needles and crochet hooks are not returnable or exchangeable unless defective.
  • Final sale items include gift certificates, books, patterns, magazines, clearance and special order yarns/products.
