What's new at the Asylum?

New teachers!  I am really excited to have a new crochet instructor - Xenia - and new knit instructor - Chris - to join us at Yarn Asylum!  They will be joining the teachers already in place and will add fresh new classes to our lineup!

New Yarn!  New Spring yarns are arriving now.  We also have new lines coming in each month through April.  We also just added Cascade Cherub yarn in Aran and Chunky weights.  It is available in a variety of colors and is perfect for the budget minded knitter or crocheter looking for quality yarn.

Now that the frantic holiday knitting and crocheting is behind us, it is time to focus on some relaxing projects.  Perhaps a selfish knit for yourself?  Or take the time to finish up some of the lingering projects from 2014?  (or earlier!)  I know some fiber fanatics have already started planning and working on their holiday gifts for 2015.  You know the overachievers in the crowd!  Yes, I am just jealous.

Personally, I decided to break down my knitting goals by month rather than try to establish goals for the whole year.  I have already finished 3 knitting UFOs in January that were cast on years ago.  It sure felt good to have them off the needles!

Smaller accomplishments add up to larger ones and seem much less daunting.  This is true in more than just knitting projects. I love the quote by John Bytheway - 'Inch by inch, life's a cinch.  Yard by yard, life's hard.'  Take time to enjoy life one inch at a time.

Until next time...

We have a new Doctor at Yarn Asylum!

I am really excited that Knitter Extraordinaire - Chris Engels - has agreed to partner with Yarn Asylum to establish a new program for helping knitters diagnose and cure ailments in their knitting projects.

As many of you know, Chris is amazing at fixing mistakes and getting knitters back on track with their projects.  Whether it is dropped stitches, missed stitches or just determining where you are in a UFO pattern, she is quick to figure it out and then show you how to correct it.

When you are looking at your knitting and saying "what have I done and how do I fix it?" - schedule some time with Chris to get your answers!  With her help, you will have those needles clicking again in no time!

Dr. appointments are available and the co-pay is just $15/hour.  (one hour minimum)
