Wyndcliffe Court Sculpture Gardens to close for good in September
Proposed rent increases make the Sculpture Gardens no longer viable as a commercial operation.
After four very successful years Wyndcliffe Court Sculpture Garden will be closing its doors to the public at the end of September. Artists Christine Baxter and Alex Brown who set up the sculpture garden when they began renting the house and garden in 2013 have been unable to agree mutually acceptable terms with the letting agents who act on behalf of the family trust which owns Wyndcliffe Court. As a result the Sculpture gardens and tea rooms will stay open until the end of this season before closing for good on the 25th September. Those who have paid for seasonal membership in 2016 will still be able to revisit until September 25th for no extra charge.
Once closed neither the house nor gardens will be accessible to the public so we would urge anyone interested in visiting the gardens to do so before September 25th
As creative artists and entrepreneurs Alex and Christine have already secured a significant new base in the local area from where they will continue to create new art, curate exhibitions and run a broad range of art and sculpture workshops. More details will be shared over the coming months. Please email us
or call 01291 621242 for further information.
