Here’s five more easy ways to apply hygge to your life, this Blue Monday. Just don’t ask us to pronounce it!
  2. Eat happy foods: It’s tempting to reach for the sweet and stodgy foods when you’re feeling down in the dumps, but in fact this could make matters worse, giving you a short high followed by a big fat low. What you eat is closely related to your mood so try swapping the cookies, cakes and fried snacks for foods that have been proven to boost your energy levels and happiness, such as chilli, avocado, dark chocolate, ginger and blueberries.  
  3. Book a holiday: What better way to distract yourself from the dreary UK winter than to plan a holiday somewhere warm and sunny, or book yourself a cheeky city break. Not only will it give you something to look forward to, chances are you’ll also save money, with loads of January deals to take advantage of and lots of benefits from booking early.
