Christmas Tree Recycling - Jan 7th
|
|
Many Scouts BSA troops in Alpine and Mt Tahoma Districts will recycle your Christmas tree in exchange for a donation. Your donations are a critical part of their ability to provide a quality Scouting program for local youth.

We know Scouting is a dynamic organization bringing challenges and questions big and small. So we want to provide a venue for leaders, volunteers and parents to get real-time support and answers.

Here are some examples of questions you could bring to office hours:
Cubs: “I have an annual activity plan but not sure if it looks good or not. Is there someone who can help me?”
Scouts: “I have a couple of life scouts looking for eagle project ideas. Do you have any suggestions?”
Parents: “My scout is crossing over soon and not sure what troop to join. How does that work?”
Join us on the second Thursday of each month volunteers from the territory service area committee will be available via Zoom from 7 – 8 PM to connect with you.

Swimming Merit Badge - January 14th
|
|
We will be able to offer the ability to demonstrate Swimming Merit Badge requirements to six scouts who are ready to demonstrate their skills on January 14th. There will also be a required zoom session with the counselor to go over the dry requirements. This is an opportunity to demonstrate, not an instructional class.

Climbing Merit Badge – Jan 28 / Feb 25

REGISTER NOW! Join us for a Climbing Merit Badge event at Edgeworks in Bellevue!
The Edgeworks Climbing Merit Badge Course meets or exceeds the requirements for the BSA’s Climbing Merit Badge and the GSA’s Climbing Adventure Badge. Our staff are registered counselors with the local BSA Council and will teach climbing safety, climbing history, types of climbing, go over climbing equipment, climbing knots, climbing communication, rappelling, and much more.

All OA Elections in T’Kope Kwiskwis Lodge need to be conducted before April 1, 2023.
Scoutmasters and Crew Advisers should have received an email notification from the T’Kope Kwiskwis Lodge soon. This email will give directions for scheduling your OA Election. Please schedule your Election as soon as possible so that you get the date is most convenient for your unit.

Camp Edward Klondike - Feb 10-12

The Camp Edward Klondike Derby will be held February 10-12 at Camp Edward open to Webelos Dens, Scouts BSA Troops, and Crews.

UNITS WISHING TO CAMP OVERNIGHT WILL NEED TO RESERVE THEIR CAMPSITES SEPARATELY. SEE THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE ANNOUNCEMENT LINKED BELOW.
General Schedule:
- Friday check in and Cracker Barrel
- Sat Morning - Klondike Derby
- Sat afternoon - Totin' Chip skills
- Sun Morning - 2 hour Service project at the camp
All scouts should come out of this event with their Totin' Chip and the Paul Bunyan award!!! Each unit needs to help out or run a station. See the unit leaders guide for more detail.

Chief Seattle Council Shooting Sports Days are currently scheduled for:
- March 25-26, 2023
- April 22-23
- Oct 21-22
All will be held at Camp Pigott.

Please note: There are also some changes from National that are being flowed to camp usage plus Council/District/Territory level events. More to follow, as discussions are happening with the new Council Program Director, and the new requirements flowed out towards the end of December. How a unit level event could be impacted is also being investigated.
