Community flowers brighten Christchurch

In the wake of the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes Walter van der Kley, of the Rotary Club of Ashburton, NZ, wondered what could be done to pick up the spirit of Christchurch. His solution was Colour Me Christchurch, a project that would transform 15 vacant lots into 15 plots of colourful wildflowers. Read more >

Smiles all round

The Rotary Club of North Harbour in Auckland  NZ, recently completed a community project that commenced in February 2011 when Past President David Hutcheson learned that the 40-plus-year-old toy digger at the local play centre sandpit had been retired as it was no longer safe for play. Taking Rotary to the courts

Taking their youthful passion and enthusiasm for community development to the court, the Rotary Club of Kent Town  SA, has put together a team of indoor netball champions to play weekly games at the ICA Sportzworx in Stepney. Members say the weekly games provide the perfect platform for spreading the message of Rotary and strengthening teamwork skills through fellowship, fun and fitness. Read story >
