Rotary New Zealand changing the future of Tanzania

Encouraged by Past District Governor Stuart and Lesley Batty, Rotarians throughout New Zealand have raised over $25,000 for child sponsorship in Tanzania in the past decade. The Greatest Amateur Racing Event in the World

On Sunday, April 7, Dylan Smith from Orewa College, Auckland, became New Zealand’s National Soap Box Derby Champion. Following his win Dylan went on to compete in the grand finals in Akron, Ohio, US, in July and has just returned after a “once-in-a-lifetime experience”. Read more >

On July 4 the University of Wollongong Rotaract Club, NSW, held one of its biggest ever events and put some fun into FUNdraising. Humans vs. Zombies, a game that originated in America and has spread virally around the world, is basically a giant game of tag with Nerf Guns. Read story >

Rotary's Polio history longer than you might think

Did you know that polio survivors make up the largest single physical disability group in Australia? Up to 40,000 Australians were diagnosed with the most severe form of the disease, paralytic polio, between 1930 and 1988. In Australia today there are an estimated 400,000 polio survivors. Hat Day - 11 October

Friday October 11 is Hat Day, the fundraising day where you wear a hat and make a donation to help shine a light on mental illness in Australia. 100% of money raised on the day goes to research into helping those affected by depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and many other illnesses.
